Jokema - O Mam - 2013 Kumul Reggae

O mam

The song 'O Mam' was compose and written in the Bel language of Madang Province, Papua New Guinea.

The song echoes the Son's cry to his Father; which is a situation experienced by most families these days when families are broken due to marriage problems.

The chorus - "O mam, o mam...nga woi ilo  so padal" means 'Oh Father, Oh Father, do not forget me.

I am proud to say that I wrote and composed this song as one of my early songs when I got into the hobby of song writing; and have kept it in my mind until I met Honly Isaac; who turned out to be my current brother in law.

With our mutual interest in music; I shared the song with him one evening when we played the guitar together in at my father in-law's house at Butibam village in Morobe province.

Honly Isaac is now the Lead-Singer of the Jokema band and 'O mam' is a hit in their second album.

Hope you all enjoy the song.

Cheers,

Daniel Brown Geob.
